‘Medical equipment cart’: Police say 2 dead after shooting

A gunman opened fire at a medical equipment store in Florida Thursday morning, killing two people, and wounding at least two others, authorities said.

A man was killed and a woman was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the gunman was taken into custody, Broward Sheriff’s Office spokesman Steve Anderson said.

The incident happened at the Southside Medical Equipment store at 4205 N. High St., about 20 minutes after 1 a.m.

ET, police said.

The store is about five miles east of Orlando, where two people were killed by gunfire Thursday morning at a restaurant, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

An officer who was in the store at the time of the shooting was injured, Anderson said, and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

He did not have any information on the gunman’s identity.

Anderson said the store is closed for business.

The names of the victims have not been released, but the Herald reported that two people died and one was injured.
